Greyhound Pets of America Greater Northwest (GPAGNW) has been finding forever homes for retired racing Greyhounds since 2004. We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 not for profit and a chapter in good standing of Greyhound Pets of America National.
GPAGNW is incorporated in Idaho, but we have no brick and mortar location or kennel. All of our available dogs are housed in foster homes throughout Washington state and Idaho until they are adopted. Because of this, we are always seeking new foster homes to increase the number of Greyhounds we can transport to the Pacific Northwest. We always find forever homes for these wonderful dogs, and would love to have more of them to offer.
Please consider fostering if you are looking for a rewarding volunteer opportunity! It typically takes between 2 weeks and 3 months to find a permanent home for a newly retired Greyhound. While they are in foster care, GPAGNW pays all necessary expenses including veterinary care and food. All you need to supply is love and a little housetraining.
The cost of transporting newly retired racing dogs to the Pacific Northwest has risen sharply in recent years. We are no longer able to keep up with this cost, so we have become even more reliant on donations to cover the difference. Please consider donating to help GPAGNW continue operating. While monetary donations are the biggest help, we also need food, treats, beds, gently used or new crates and other supplies.
Please contact us if you have questions or would like to donate or join us as a volunteer. And, of course, we’d love to hear from you if you are considering adopting a Greyhound.
