BENEFITING: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
EVENT: ST. JUDE CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL
EVENT DATE: May 01, 2016
I have benefitted so much from running over the past few years of my life. Running has eased my mind, has given me an outlet to escape stress, and has made me more confident in myself. Running is therapeutic to me. I've gained so much just from doing something that I felt like doing ("I just felt like running" -Forrest Gump) that I decided it's time to help someone else by doing what I enjoy. I am running the Pittsburgh half marathon on May 1st, 2016 to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, where children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases can receive medical help, regardless of the family's financial situation. I have seen glimpses of the grief that a parent feels after losing a child, and I believe the research that is done at St Jude's will continue to help children survive these diseases. My goal is to raise $600 for this charity before race day.
