GCCA is a 501 (c) 3 not-for-profit organization formed in NYC’s Chinatown in 1972. The mission of GCCA is to serve the underserved in our community. Our particular concern is for new immigrants, the elderly, and the Chinese sandwich generation, i.e., middle-agers with both parents and their own children to care for. In collaboration with other public and private agencies, we provide direct relief, skill-building education programs, bureaucratic guidance and social and economic consulting services. In the course of our work, we look to create and bridge multi-generational, cultural learning. Though we started as a community based organization serving the five boroughs, our reach now exceeds that and extends to participants in the tri-state area.
