THE STORY:
Fighting poverty is a community-wide effort in Haiti. It takes everyone - Haitian farmers, female merchants, grassroots leaders, you, me and your friends to take steps towards improving livelihoods in Haiti.
Because, as the Haitian proverb says,“Yon sél dwét pa manje kalalou.” You can’t eat okra with one finger.
Together, let’s #StartaRYOT for Haiti! This is an effort to build strong and viable communities in Haiti that are well prepared to face the challenges of poverty head on.
You can make an impact by joining Lambi Fund’s team (and creating a fundraiser of your own), sharing this campaign with friends and family and donating now.
By joining Lambi Fund’s “Village to Fight Poverty,” you are playing an active role in working to provide grassroots organizations with the tools, training, and financial resources they need to make change a reality.
This means community-managed grain mills, economic opportunities for small merchants, goat and sheep breeding enterprises that increase incomes and community-led reforestation efforts. These projects just scratch the surface of what is possible when we all join together “to eat okra.”
Through hard work, vision and solidarity, this is what is making an impact in Haiti.
