Running a Half for Hugo
Organized by: Kelly Griff
EVENT DATE Dec 06, 2014
Hugo is a smiley, fuzzy-haired blonde baby boy just 6 weeks younger than our Codeman Griffin. Days after his first birthday, without any sign of being sick, a tumor was found on his kidney. It was then discovered he had a tumor on his kidney, his aorta and cancer has metastasized to his lungs. He has 14 rounds of chemo to endure and is down one kidney, with a long long road to go.
When I heard about Hugo's diagnosis, I ran. I ran until I couldn't see through my tears or speak through my sobs. But that isn't enough. This family needs real and tangible support. They need financial help for medical costs that insurance doesn't cover, loss of income and other expenses. They should be able to focus on helping their infant son survive, not on money.
So I ran my first half marathon on October 5th, and I'm going to keep running half marathons (Halfs for Hugo) and raising money to help the Canada family until Hugo doesn't have cancer anymore. Please donate to help them do that as well. Go Hugo!
