BENEFITING: Catholic Near East Welfare Association
EVENT DATE: Dec 01, 2015
His name is Viktor. He’s 90 years-old and lives in Eastern Europe. He has so little to spend on food, he’s often weak.
So is Nour. She’s only 5 years-old. She barely remembers the violent night she fled from Syria with her family. But she’s been living in hunger’s shadow ever since. And if you ask 14-year old Lijo, born in one of India’s poorest villages? He’ll tell you he’s always hungry. Even in his dreams.
Here at Catholic Near East Welfare Association (CNEWA), we’ve been helping the poor and displaced for nearly 90 years. In the Middle East, Northeast Africa, India and Eastern Europe, we fund hospitals and orphanages. Senior centers and schools. Run by local churches and religious sisters, these centers of hope serve people of every faith.
And right now? They desperately need your help.
Wave after wave of frightened, needy people are overwhelming many of these small facilities. Staff members are struggling with the cost of feeding them all.
Can you help us fill their empty plates? Your contribution will provide milk for refugee infants. Lunch for poor school kids. Hot meals for the displaced, elderly, and disabled. You’ll nourish young Nour and many more.
Even a small donation will make a difference to the hungry, who have nowhere else to turn. So please give if you can. Help us share the gift of human kindness. Let’s send these children, parents and grandparents the strength to hope again.
