I am asking for your help to raise $2,500 for Jewish Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Los Angeles.
As many of you know, I first became involved with Jewish Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Los Angeles when I became a Big Sister to my former little, Samantha, 9 years ago (side note - she turns 21 next month!). My experience as a Big Sister caused me to want to get more involved with the agency and I became a board member 3 years ago. I have also served on numerous committees including the Thrive Teen Empowerment Workshop Committee, the strategic planning committee and the Executive Committee. The more involved I have become with this amazing agency, the more life-changing stories I have witnessed from the important work that they do.
Your gift to the #GiveBig campaign for Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of Los Angeles will provide children facing adversity with a Big Brother/Big Sister. You'll give them incredible experiences like attending their first football games or trying new foods. You'll give them a mentor whose sole job is to listen and focus on them. You'll give them an outlet to discuss their fears, challenges and hopes. These strong and enduring, professionally-supported, 1-to-1 relationships change their lives for the better, forever.
The kids’ needs are incredibly diverse, yet all crucial. The JBBBSLA mentor program provides children with:
Positive role models who help foster healthier relationships and lifestyle choices
Professional support to help enhance a child’s self-esteem and self-confidence
The tools to build stronger relationships with parents, teachers, and peers
Access to college guidance and scholarship opportunities
Free activities throughout the year for our matches to experience new things together.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read this and for your support!
