Our goal is to provide scholarships for bright, hardworking girl students in Malawi, Africa to give them what they want more than anything: an education. This in turn empowers girls to provide for their families and their communities, breaking the cycle of poverty. We work with orphans and vulnerable students who could not otherwise afford school fees for high school, college, or trade school, even though they have passed rigorous exams to advance to that level. These girls have worked very hard. All they need is tuition: about $350/yr for high school, or $1,200 for trade school or college per year. Or $30/mo. for high school and $100/mo. for college.
These girls often go on to become teachers, health care workers, scientists, agriculture consultants, business owners, or professionals in various fields. Evidence has shown that investing in girls education is highly cost-effective, as they in turn are empowered to help their families, communities, and the entire country become more productive and self-sufficient.
