EVENT: 2015 Boston Marathon
Hey! I'm Theresa, and I'm fundraising for the 2015 Girl Scouts Boston Marathon Team. I believe that 12 years in Girl Scouts turned me into the person I am today... a tree-hugging, adventure-loving goofball who loves a good Thin Mint. I joined Troop 667 when I was 6 years old. I was a total, total Girl Scouts nerd. I loved everything about Girl Scouts- getting badges, hanging out with other girls my age (I’m an only child), and especially getting outside. I spent weeks at Camp Maude Eaton every summer, which profoundly impacted me. I gained an appreciation for nature that directly led to my undergrad major (Environmental Conservation and Sustainability) and a love of hiking that is still with me today.
Running is a newer part of my life. I ran my first 5k after my freshman year of college, and in the 3 years since then I’ve completed a handful of 5 and 10ks and one half marathon.
Boston will be my first marathon. As a (greater) Bostonian and a member of the New England running community, I know how big a deal it is to get a bib for the Boston Marathon. I’m excited to get down to work fundraising and training on behalf of Team Girl Scouts!
I chose the picture to the left because that’s what I’ll be looking like while I’m training in New Hampshire this winter- freezing and smiling. (Hopefully smiling)! I’m currently pursuing my MBA at UNH; I spent my undergraduate career there as well. GO 'CATS!
Whether you're a Girl Scout, a UNH alum, a runner, or a New Englander, I hope you'll donate to Team Girl Scouts! I'm hoping to raise at least $7,000 by Marathon Monday, and can't do it without you!
