Get Rachel To Ghana
Organized by: Rachel Cincotta
Hi! My name is Rachel Cincotta and I am a sophomore at Bucknell University where I am majoring in Chemical Engineering and getting a minor in Economics. I'm raising funds for a month-long Summer Fellowship with a nonprofit called Saha Global with whom I will be traveling to a village in Ghana in June to build a sustainable solar business.
The solar panels I will be building will provide access to electricity for the community where they can charge batteries, lanterns, and small electronics. This not only saves the community a lot of money and time because they no longer need to travel hours to cities to charge their electronics and lights for their homes but also creates a sustainable business and source of income for the women in these communities.
This trip will not be possible without your help! Every dollar you donate will go directly towards bringing light, power, and entrepreneurship to villages in Northern Ghana.
100% of the 76 water and solar businesses created by Saha Global in the past are still operational and completely run by local entrepreneurs in the community!
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or just to talk to me about why I am so passionate about this trip and this cause!
