EVENT: 2nd Annual Bowl Over Autism

EVENT DATE: Nov 12, 2016

THE STORY:

Integrated Behavioral Technologies, Inc. (IBT) is a non-profit organization that aims to provide equal access to evidence-based services and education to children with Autism Spectrum disorders (ASD) and other behavioral and developmental disabilities with a special focus on children in low-income and rural areas. IBT aims to help families overcome the barriers that stand in the way of accessing quality services such as applied behavioral analysis (ABA). A treatment that can range from 25-40 hours of direct intervention per week. In the state of Kansas, only a few families are able to access insurance benefits for ABA therapy. Even with insurance coverage, families could face copays of up to $500 per month. Without insurance coverage, costs reach up to $70,000 annually for an intensive treatment program. Additionally, many families in rural Kansas can afford treatment, but can’t access services because the nearest treatment center is up to 5 hours away. Without IBT’s willingness to travel, and treatment scholarships, many families across the state of Kansas would never be able to access evidence-based intervention for their children. If you would like to support our event but don't associate with one of our 2016 fundraising teams, you are welcome to make a general donation, or you can choose a team that you would like to see win prizes for meeting their fundraising goals.
