The Rockledge Model Railroad Museum was formed in 1951 as the Gatsme Model Railroad Club Inc. We are a not for profit corporation and recognized by the IRS as a 501 (c) (3) educational charity. In the early days, we rented space in Oreland and then for many years in Fort Washington. 2014 was a watershed year, as we purchased a small hosiery mill in Rockledge. We have renovated that space and are building a large historical model railroad. We teach the history of model railroading and the craft of building a realistic representation of 1950's. In addition we have exhibits about the mill, the textile industry and local railroads. We share our mission with other groups like Boy Scouts looking to earn a Merit Badge in Railroading.
