Fund our Adoption Journey

RJ and I have been dreaming of the family we would have since we got engaged. Over the years the dream of what our family would look like has grown and changed as we struggled through our infertility. After finding out that conceiving a child on our own was highly unlikely we tackled the problem medically.

A few rounds of hormone medication, lots of tests and two failed attempts at Invito found us moving down an incredible path to adoption and we were so blessed to adopt our incredible son Tyson. I can't even put into words the love we feel for him. We feel so blessed and humbled to be his parents and daily feel like pinching ourselves to have such an amazing boy in our lives. What a gift he is, and his adoption story is full of miracles and blessings and we are grateful every day for the people who helped us along the way.

Almost immediately after Tyson was born we started getting asked if we would adopt again and the answer was always the same, we didn't want Tyson to be an only child, we wanted him to have the chance to be a big brother and we wanted to have more children. We never even took a break in our saving, because we knew what it took financially to make an adoption happen and we had a clear vision for our family that required the squirreling away of money to continue so we could be ready when the time came to bring another baby into our family.

In November we contacted the same agency we used to adopt our son because of a Facebook post we saw stating they were looking for families for some babies they didn't have a match for. We were never told that their license had been put under review and had restrictions attached to it. After a few weeks we were matched with a birth mom who was due in January. We paid the full amount due which included using our savings and taking out a loan and started to prepare to bring our baby girl home.

A week before the scheduled due date the agency lost contact with our birth mom and her phone was shut off. She was out of state and there way no other way to contact her. We waited to see what would happen. They days were so long and painful as we worried and waited. The day of her due date arrived and passed with no more information and we made the painful decision to move on and hopefully be matched with a new birth mom.

We were second choice to the next birth mom we were shown and then a few weeks after that we found out that the agency had been closed down and had their license revoked. We emailed and tried to call but the phones had been shut down and there were no response to the emails we sent asking for our money. We are working through legal channels to hopefully get some answers and at least part of our money back but that isn't likely. We are now starting over in our saving and fundraising hoping that the darling nursery we prepared won't sit empty for long.

The money we raise will go towards fees associated with our home study, legal fees as well as possible travel fees. Basically it will just replace the money we lost so that we can work with another agency and hopefully find our baby.

We want to thank you in advance for your interest, love and support of our little family. We have been touched by so many people throughout this journey and it doesn't go unnoticed or unappreciated. We truly feel so blessed by you. This has been a rocky road we have been traveling but hopefully through the generosity of others we will be blessed.
