Flint Water Solutions - Permaculture & Community Resilience
Organized by: Flint Water Solutions Permaculture Design Training
Event Name: Flint Water Crisis
EVENT DATE Apr 30, 2016
THE STORY:
Water is life. A water crisis presents an opportunity to change the way we consume this precious resource, and re-design our communities to be more resiliently integrated with our environment.
Permaculture is an ecological design science that teaches us how to work with nature to create long term solutions, which provide for our families and communities. The goal of permaculture is to create a holistic, systems thinking lens that allows us to solve problems and design solutions that mimic the abundance of Nature.
Partnering with community groups Flintopia, Mission of Hope and Abundant Michigan Permaculture Flint, we are training 50 Flint community leaders in hands-on permaculture solutions for sustainable water, food, energy, and waste systems. On the weekend of April 30th, 2016 - we will demonstrate replicable, people-powered solutions that these 50 community leaders will take back to their neighborhoods and organizations. The entire course will be video recorded and made available for free at www.flintwatersolutions.com, along with hundreds of open-source design ideas, lessons and schematics for permaculture systems.
Please join us in turning this crisis into an opportunity for Flint neighborhoods to become empowered through working with Nature. A donation of $10 or above gets you a pdf version of the course handbook sent directly to your inbox on Monday, May 2nd. Thank you!
