All across the country, immigrants are fighting back against the despicable, racist attacks on their communities by the Trump administration. In many cases, women are leading the charge. FURIA (Fuerza Unida en Resistencia de Inmigrantes en Acción), a grassroots organization formed by immigrant women to fight for immigrants’ rights in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, needs your help to get to the People's Congress of Resistance.
FURIA has been at the forefront of the struggle to make Pittsburgh a real sanctuary city. On July 12, after months of hard work collecting petitions, FURIA won a City Council hearing on the issue of sanctuary. This fight continues.
But we do not want to fight alone! At the People's Congress of Resistance, FURIA members will have the opportunity to build powerful alliances with other immigrant women leaders and grassroots resistors in all sectors of the struggle. And FURIA members will address the People's Congress so that others can learn from our experience building the movement.
We can't do this without your help. 20 FURIA members and their families are ready to travel to D.C. the weekend of Sept. 16-17, but are in need of financial support. We estimate that housing will cost $1,000, and transportation will cost another $500. Please take one minute right now to donate whatever you can to help.
