Family Promise of Tualatin Valley is a local non-profit that wraps around homeless kids and their families to support them while they get back on their feet and get back into housing. We offer a Day Center located in Tualatin along with an evening rotational shelter program utilizing local churches and civic organizations that provides volunteers, safe sleeping space and meals. Through deep-dive case management we address all of the barriers that have led to homelessness and help find employment, access local resources and provide budgeting training. Our referrals come from Washington and Clackamas county school districts We keep kids in their schools so they can maintain the routines and relationships they depend upon. Community Collaboration makes a difference for homeless kids and families. The Family Promise model has worked for over 30 years and has over 200 affiliates and 180,000 volunteers nationwide. We offer not only shelter, meals and love without judgement, we help our guests find housing and to stay there. Nationally, 87% of FP graduates remain in housing 12 months after leaving the shelter. For many families experiencing situational homelessness their stories can be heartbreaking. Family Promise of Tualatin Valley is part of their journey towards self-sufficiency and independence.
