Our mission is 'to end homelessness, one family at a time'.  To qualify for our services, a family must be homeless (defined by the McKinney-Vento Act) and have at least one child under the age of 18 years in their care.  We serve single moms, single dads, and two-parent families.  Through intense, targetted case management services, we assist families in raising their levels of independence.  All parents are required to work full-time; go to school full-time; or a combination thereof.  All families are required to follow rules and should they choose not to, will be dismissed from the programs.  Our programs are NOT hand-out, they ARE hand-ups!  Families MUST be committed to helping themselves.

We operate 2 main programs:  1.  The Midland Interfaith Hospitality Network (MIHN).  In this program,  we may accept up to 4 families, 14 persons at a time.  Families are required to save 80% of their net income in their own bank accounts. We've solicitied the support of our faith community, whereby we have 17 congregations of varying faiths that assist with implementing this program.  15 of the congregations are what we refer to as host congregations; opening their doors at night to provide food, a place to sleep, and equally important, hospitality to the families.  The remaining congregations are support congregations, providing volunteers, food, paper goods, etc., for the host congregations.

       2.  Our Families Forward program is a family transitional housing program.  We currently own and operate 3 duplexes for this program.  Families may apply for acceptance into to this program and once accepted, reside for up to 2 years.  Families pay a program fee of $550 per month for a 3-bedroom/2 bath unit and $450 a month for a 2-bedroom/2 bath unit.  We also have designated 2 units as income restricted (family pays 30% of their net income) and/or rapid rehousing units(families may reside until they are able to pay program fees).
