THE STORY:
Donate now to help us reach our goals! Interested in the impact of your donation?
$10.00 helps transport female smallholder coffee farmers to quality and productivity trainings at one of our Farmer Field Schools in the Rwenzururu Region of Uganda
$25.00 provides new Mango tree seedlings and fencing for a Haitian Mango Farmer. With wild goats and no fencing, mangos are often eaten before they are ripe leaving farmers with little to no fruit to sell!
$50.00 puts resources in the hands of an advocacy campaign and provides the needed supplies and materials for a local Fair Trade event.
$100 helps farmers at origin purchase much needed organic fertilizers!
$250 supports intercropping efforts using native fruits and plants for a coffee farmer in Central America. Intercropping helps pollination adds nutrients to the soil and strengthens coffee plants.

$15,000 to support expanding our Haitian Mango Program helping Haitian farmers rebuild their lives through Fair Trade mango certification
$20,000 to support our Ugandan Coffee Livelihoods Project focused on reaching and training women coffee farmers.
$25,000 will empower Fair Trade Campaigns to build the tools, resources and effective leadership needed to strengthen local Fair Trade movements. $40,000 to support our Rust Response Fund and help improve the livelihoods of Central America coffee farmers affected by coffee rust.

Fair Trade’s Rust Response Fund: Coffee rust, or “roya”, is a devastating fungus that is wiping coffee farms throughout Central America and putting farmers’ livelihoods at risk. Rust is affecting nearly 100% of the 128 Fair Trade Certified coffee cooperatives we work with in Central America and Mexico. The challenge is tracking the severity of coffee rust and projecting crop loss, impact, and financing needs. Experts estimate that in 2012-2013 outbreak alone, coffee farmers will lose as much as $500 million due to crop loss, and nearly 374,000 coffee farming related jobs.
Fair Trade USA is focused on catalyzing farming efforts by identifying issues and replicating innovative, effective solutions in the field! Donate to the Rust Response fund to help farmers’ combat this devastating disease. Click here to learn more.
Fair Trade Loves Haitian Mangoes!
The Fair Trade Certified model is connecting growing numbers of smallholder Haitian mango producers with sustainable livelihoods and funds for vital community development projects. Our work with US purchasers continues to grow as we help build trust and create transparent, reliable, and steady streams of supply of Haitian mangos for these buyers and consumers. Donate to help our Fair Trade Haitian Mango Initiative & read more about our impact here!
“Before Fair Trade, we got $0.12 for a dozen mangos- and we used to cut down mango trees for wood. With Fair Trade, now we get $1.00. for a dozen and we understand the value of the mango tree..”

Ugandan Coffee Livelihoods Project: Fair Trade USA’s Building Sustainable Livelihoods Project identified 85 trainers who are responsible for providing technical training and assistance to smallholder coffee farmers on best agricultural practices and post-harvest handling methods. For the first time, Fair Trade USA is working to certify smallholder coffee farmers in western Uganda connecting them with the economic, social, and environmental benefits of Fair Trade! Donate and help these trainers reach more women coffee farmers!
