Exhale to Inhale empowers survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault to reclaim their lives through the healing and grounding practice of yoga.
People who aren't too familiar with yoga ask "why yoga"? It's a good question ... Yoga calms the nervous system and can positively change our brain function. It can help us feel more relaxed & less anxious, it can help us sleep better, and it can help us feel stronger & more confident. The simplest movements we do - while paying attention to our breath - provide the greatest benefits of yoga. That means yoga is good for anybody. You don't have to be flexible, belong to a gym, or have lots of time to get the benefits of yoga. You don't even need a pair of sneakers.
For those who have survived the trauma of domestic violence or sexual assault, yoga can have a profound impact. It can help survivors re-connect with their physical bodies and begin to feel strong and safe. It can help survivors connect their mind & body to make more positive life choices for themselves and their families.
Yoga has been clinically shown to reduce the symptoms of PTSD. Find out more here.
