Located in Lansing, Michigan, EVE, End Violent Encounters, has a mission to provide shelter and supportive services to victims of domestic violence and sexual violence while seeking to end domestic and sexual violence through public awareness and community education.

Over the years we have seen a rise in cases of ALL, Abuse in Later Life. With a grant from the Offices on Violence Against Women EVE along with the Lansing Police Department, Adult Protective Services, City of Lansing, Ingham County Prosecutor's Office and the Tri-County Office on Aging started a community response called ALL.

Our Abuse in Later Life program is designed specifically to adress the needs of survivors of abuse over the age of 50. It offers everything that our advocacy services provide with a special focus on the elder community.

The different advocacy services that we provide include,but are not limited to: housing help, safety planning, PPO assistance, employment help, transportation, goal setting, court support, and more. We also offer many different support groups to our clients, and on support group specifically for those in the ALL program.

Our advocates are trained to assist clients with a wide range of potential needs while in our programs. We have departments of the advocacy team specifically for: residents of the shelter, non-residents but clients of EVE, anyone over the age of 50, and the families in shelter. Both residents of the shelter and those who are not residents are able to receive advocacy and client support services. Our goal is to help victims evaluate their strengths and build upon them to further EMPOWER themselves. Advocates work closely with clients to examine and prioritize their needs.

With the estimated number of females over the age of 50 in the tri-county surrounding area being over 71,500 and knowing that one in three women at some point in their life will be a victim of domestic violence, we know that our ALL program is important and is changing lives. The money we are asking for will go directly to the programand services listed above; please give what you can!
