"Endangered Art” is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization located in Franklin County. The organization was designed to bring the Arts, and a way of self expression through the arts, to at risk youth. Through the use of art classes that involve the pottery wheel, kiln, stained glass, sculpting and other mediums these young people will be able express themselves and the world around them while they also learn to heal. Participation in these programs is by referral only from school counselors, Therapists, Doctors or other mental health workers. Staffing is made up entirely of volunteer artists and mental health professionals who have all been trained in working with at risk youth who have experienced some form of Trauma. This however is Not a counseling facility.
One of the organizations most immediate goals is to open a Gallery space for these children to display their work; a place to hold regular and specialized Art Exhibits, Showings and Sales. A place for them to show the world around them that they are STRONG, BEAUTIFUL and INSPIRED and will not give in to the traumas that have hurt them in the past.
Not only does Art heal, it Empowers. But only if it is first created, and then shared. Your sharing, can make all of this possible. Help a child learn the most international of all languages - the love of Art.
