BENEFITING: EMILY WHITEHEAD FOUNDATION
You are the Organizer of this Fundraiser
Vice goes inside the world’s most cutting-edge cancer research labs to follow the pioneering doctors and researchers who are changing the face of modern-day medicine and meet some of the cancer survivors who have already been saved by this revolutionary medical breakthrough.
Emily Whitehead was the first child in the world to receive an experimental T-cell therapy at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) to save her from a life-threatening cancer. Nearly 3 years later, nine-year-old Emily and her parents launched the Emily Whitehead Foundation, which aims to direct funding to medical researchers to develop better treatment options and ultimately a cure for pediatric cancer. The foundation will promote pediatric cancer awareness and hopes to provide support for families facing the disease.
