Since 2003, Elizabeth House has reached out a hand of compassion 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It is people caring for people. Elizabeth House is a long-term (6-12 months) residential care home with a loving, dedicated staff and family environment for women and their children to give them a chance to heal, save money for a home, and achieve financial independence.
Elizabeth House receives no government funding but depends solely on people in the community, private grants, business donations, churches and others who have the heart to help bruised and battered women and children who have suffered abuse and violence in their homes.
Referrals are made through the Seminole or Orange County Sheriff’s Departments, Children and Family Services, churches, and other social service agencies.
These referrals are only for women who are not in imminent danger. If their lives are still in danger, they should contact one of the emergency shelters in our area that are hidden in secure, confidential locations.
They can be reached at: Harbor House – (407) 886-2856 or Safehouse of Seminole – (407) 330-3933.
