EHCA's mission is to assist people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to live rich and fulfilling lives. The agency began in 1912 as an orphanage when an abandoned baby was found at the local train station. Over the years, EHCA has grown and changed with our community, revising our mission to exclusively assist people with disabilities in the late 1950's. Today, EHCA has a variety of services and 19 community homes to help over 400 individuals with IDD and their families in three counties every day. Watch our video to be inspired by one of our major fundraisers - the Victory Ride, where hundreds of motorcycle enthusiasts come to see our residents ride or take a ride themselves, and a huge number of our staff volunteer so individuals with IDD can feel the wind in their faces.
