We are a mobilizing force for people of faith in Castro Valley, Hayward, San Leandro, San Lorenzo, and surrounding communities (including unincorporated parts) in the San Francisco Bay Area's East Bay region. We welcome participation of all people of goodwill whether they identify with a faith community or not. Our mission is to promote understanding and respect for all faiths and work together towards human rights, peace, justice, civic change, and freedom of religion.
With the covid-19 crisis we have reached out to our community to help us sew face masks and scrub caps for our local healthcare and other essential workers. Since the end of March over 80 volunteers, of different religious, race, ethnic, social, and economic backgrounds have join with us to create over 1,700 face masks and 1,800 paper mask that are being used by these facilities:Baywood Court Senior Living Children's Hospital First Presbyterian Homeless Shelter South Parish of Hayward Homeless Shelter FHAR Family Housing and Adult Services Kaiser Home Care Kaiser Oakland ER Kaiser San Leandro Kaiser Sleepy Hollow Kaiser Richmond Lab Core Saint Rose Hospital, Hayward U.S. Post Office, Hayward
As word spreads of our work, we endeavor to make PPE for any of our area's essential workers that request them.
We need donations to continue supporting the professional working on the front lines of this crisis. Money donated will go towards the purchasing of materials to make masks, scrub caps ( our news endeavor), and paper masks. Please help us continue to support these vital professionals.
