BENEFITING: American Red Cross
For a school project, I was asked to create a project on something that a feel strongly about and create an online community around it. For my project, I made a YouTube video of me eating a hot chili pepper and donating money to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Foundation to help this year's California wildfire victims.
I chose this to raise awareness for the victims of California's 2015 wildfire season. I am trying to raise $1,000 to help the fire victims rebuild their lives, show we care and bring some happiness this holiday season. Please watch my video, take a video of of you eating a hot pepper and share with friends on Youtube, Facebook or Twitter. Then donate to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Foundation to help the fire victims.
This years wildfire season in California was one of the worst in the state's history. The two major fires in the most recent wildfire season were the Butte and Valley fires. These were the 7th and 3rd worst in California history. Together these fires burned almost 150,000 acres and over 2,000 homes.
The common misconception is that once the fire is put out the victims no longer need help, but the truth is that they still need a lot of help. They no longer have homes and have lost most of their belongings. It takes a while for houses to get rebuilt. The families need shelter, food, clothes, water, and money.
Thanks for your help!
