The above mentioned program has been designed as a response to the need for intervention for children who sexually abuse other children. there is currently no program that specifically addresses this challenge. Consultations with some of the relevant stakeholders such as the Family Violence and child Abuse Unit, Sexual Offences Court Prosecutor, The Children 's Court Magistrate , The child Advocacy Centre, Paediatricians and Psychologists were done to discuss the concern and all are in agreement of the need for interventions in this area. The concern around children abusing other children is twofold. On the one hand there is the victim to consider, a child being sexually abused is wrong regardless of whether it was by an adult or a child. On the other hand, there is the child offender to consider, simply because he or she is still a child and if no effort to treat the behaviour is made, the chances are high that this child is very likely to become an adult offender. Our focus is children between 6 and 12 years of age.
