Dustin's new business startup.
Organized by: Dustin Frolli
In this day in age with so many individuals and families living at or under the poverty line it is of the utmost importance to understand that in many cases where rental housing is the focus of the conversation there are many problems with the status quo business model. In these instances businesses and property managers are hungry to increase their bottom lines in the belief that doing so will keep the business competitive in the market. Operating in this thought process embraces the divergence in the costs of living and works to trap residents in this housing dynamic to keep them trapped. This disregards the needs of the homeless and those who are unemployed and under employed. Many of the concepts that are included in this model work to employ methods to try and lift individuals and families up and provide securities that most property managers simply have little regard for. By employing concepts ranging from housing security, income security, physical security, youth involvement, services, counceling services all play fundamental roles in this framework however the most important aspect my design is working with residents to improve their credit and assist them in climbing the social mobility ladder and help finance home purchases to allow the program to bring in new clients and help them achieve the almost unattainable living with confidence and providing for themselves and their families in ways that most businesses disregard. This mixed use housing concept will provide a platform that will serve as a pilot that housing advocates can reference to in their battle to reign in price gouging of property managers and apartment owners that only care about increasing their wealth at the expense of the customers they serve. This is only the first step at trying to make a change in the way companies do business. Help me evolve the discussion from how much can the market afford to charge to how we can make the biggest impact to improve our communities and the residents we will serve.
