BENEFITING: Dress For Success Columbus
I work from home and often have a hard time getting out of my sweatpants if I don't have any meetings or social events during the day. But I realize that, like most people, I feel better about myself (and perhaps more professional too?) if I dress up. With spring weather and a closet fully equipped with a selection of skirts and dresses, I decided to to make a personal goal to dress up everyday. But why limit the impact to my own self-esteem?
This month, I'm aiming to raise $500 to support Dress for Success--with the intent that another woman out there will benefit in a MUCH bigger way.
According to the organization's website, "$500 sponsors a woman for one year to participate in all Dress for Success programs, including but not limited to, Suiting, Career Center, the Professional Women’s Group and more!"
(More here: http://www.dressforsuccess.org/whatwedo.aspx)
So, while I dress up (and feel free to do the same!) each day, I'm hoping you'll join me to help another woman find career counseling, support and a suit to boot to help her rock her interview with confidence.
PS Just for fun (and accountability) I'll be posting daily dress-ups on Instagram at #dressupandgive. Feel free to join the fun (in giving, dressing up and posting your daily 'dressed for success' outfit.)
