THE STORY:
Dear Friends-
Over the last four years Dream Big! has changed my life.
In the fall of 2012 I joined the Dream Big! marathon team after not running for years. I was compelled by the mission of the charity: to provide athletic equipment, scholarships and leadership opportunities for low income girls. I thought it would be a 'one time' thing.
Training that first year was tough. The winter was snowy and I had a nagging knee injury. But on Patriots day, I joined with thousands of other runners to run from Hopkinton to Boston. As many of you know, I had finished the race and was waiting for Margaret to finish when the bombs exploded. After hours of searching we found each other and returned to our home in Newton.
That night I decided to run the marathon again. The attention that year was appropriately on the victims of that terrible act, but I wanted the focus to be on Dream Big! and the incredible work it does for girls. I was proud to join the team again in 2014.
Since that time I've run two other marathons outside of Boston. While they've been satisfying in their own ways, running the Boston Marathon for Dream Big! is a profound experience. So this spring, with Margaret's support, I'm running again.
And I can use your support too! The work that Dream Big! does is so important. Meeting the girls it serves and hearing their awe inspiring stories are great motivators to get out and train. Hopefully the mission will inspire you to give!
I'll be posting more information throughout the season-
Thanks in advance for your prayers and donations.
