BENEFITING: THE FOUNDATION FIGHTING BLINDNESS
EVENT DATE: Apr 28, 2017
I am back at Real Men Real Makeup by demand for an encore performance!
This year I am stoked to be performing for a charity that is near and dear to my heart - the Canadian Foundation Fighting Blindness. Every year the Foundation's ground-breaking research brings us ever closer to finding a cure for a variety of reasons. "Why is this important to me?", you may ask. Well, I have been completely blind since birth, due to a condition known as Lieber's Amaurosis, which means that my retinas never developed. Simply put, I can't see shit! While I doubt I will ever have vision, it is my hope that others can be given any and every opportunity to see. Not that being blind is all that bad. Hey, you can't beat cutting the lines at the airport, not to mention a whole other array of decent discounts offered to us blind people! Having no vision does pose some challenges (especially the no driving thing!) ... and me performing in drag is one of them! But if there is a way to eliminate unnecessary blindness by pouring some money into much-needed research, then I am all for doing my part to make that happen.
In order to participate in the show, I need to raise a minimum of $250 (although the sky is the limit!). I ask for your support of me and this cause by making a small donation in support and / or buying a ticket for our event on April 28 and coming out to cheer me on!
