More than 8,600 people were killed by the April 2015 quake in Nepal and hundreds of thousands were displaced. It has been 9 months since the earthquake hit Nepal, but very little rebuilding has been done given the current economic blockade and fuel crisis, which is barring vital supplies from entering Nepal.
This winter, millions living in temporary housing are struggling to ensure their homes are warm enough as temperature drops to freezing levels, especially in mountain areas. Most of these temporary shelters are made of corrugated tins and tarps with virtually no weatherproofing.
Some have already lost their lives and others are struggling to stay warm. We fear that death tolls might rise higher.
