DOG LOVES WATER!
I am Dan Kelly - artist, movie maker, wilds wizard and director/producer for Daughter of God, (or DOG). I am also a passionate advocate of clean, wild water. In 2009 and 2010, I sailed 600 miles around Lake Michigan on the 16 ft Hobie Cat or catamaran, Hello World, searching for our future sustainable civilization(s). Watch and read more at www.ondesire.com.
Swim for Grand Traverse Bay is a two mile open water swim event (race) and fundraiser for the Watershed Center Grand Traverse Bay. This is a very cool way for the Watershed Center to raise money, because, like my sailing expeditions, low and zero impact wild water experience is a powerful way to build connection and stewardship. I've dreamed about organizing an open water swim event on my lake, Crystal Lake in beautiful Benzie County. I want to learn how these events are organized. The Grand Traverse Bay is amazing, and deserving of our protection and stewardship. With this swim event, the Watershed center demonstrates they are walking their talk.
The goal of raising $2018 dollars for the Watershed Center celebrates the release year for my upcoming featurette movie Daughter of God, which has been in production for 12 years! She is coming... in 2018. Check out the podcast and swag at www.dog.movie.
I'd REALLY appreciate $11 donations from a few hundred of TEAM DOG's stalwart allies, extended family and fellow misfits. The more peeps the merrier... all the dollars go to the Watershed Center and all your love goes to power TEAM DOG around the bay.
