BENEFITING: RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE CHARITIES OF NASHVILLE TN
EVENT: Calls for Kids Telecast 2016
EVENT DATE: Apr 16, 2016
As you may know, I serve on the Board of Directors at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Nashville and it is one of the most rewarding and humbling opportunities I have ever experienced. Ronald McDonald House is an amazing organization and I love its mission to "keep families close." I'm helping the House raise funds for our Annual Calls For Kids Telecast, which will air live on Nashville's News 2, Saturday, April 16, 2016, 7:00 - 10:00pm. The telecast is the largest fundraising effort that the Nashville House conducts each year. To help support the programs of RMHC, I made a personnel commitment to raise at least $1,000 for this event. Please continue reading more about the House below and consider supporting our organization so we can continue to serve families who need our help.
The Ronald McDonald House Charities mission is to keep families close by providing essential resources and a home away from home for families of critically ill children receiving inpatient or outpatient medical care at Nashville area hospitals.
The primary programs run by Ronald McDonald House Charities are the 32-bedroom Ronald McDonald House and the Ronald McDonald Family Room on the 5th floor of the Monroe Carell, Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, both offer a place for parents and family members to relax, refresh and experience comforts of home while staying close to their sick child.
The House requests that families pay $15 per night but the primary goal is to keep these families together and the House never refuses service because a family is unable to pay.
The House is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, the Family Room is open from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. each day and both are supported by 7 full-time and 2 part-time staff members and more than 200 active volunteers. The Ronald McDonald House, open since July 1991, is a home, providing hot meals, laundry facilities and a place to rest. It has all the benefits of a house, such as a playroom, library and kitchen. It has the responsibilities of a house, allowing families to take pride in the establishment by taking part in daily chores and helping volunteers with projects. More importantly, the Ronald McDonald House provides an environment of emotional support from staff members, volunteers and other families, who are going through similar circumstances.
Since the House opened in 1991, over 13,000 families have stayed at the Nashville Ronald McDonald House. The Ronald McDonald Family Room, open since 2004, is a day-use room for any family of a child receiving treatment at the Children's Hospital. The Family Room is open from 9am to 9pm, seven days a week and is staffed by caring volunteers and part-time staff members. We serve more than 2,500 individuals every month at the Family Room.
You can help me reach my goal and, more importantly, help continue the great service the Nashville Ronald McDonald House provides by making a tax deductible donation via this page or, if you prefer, you can write a check payable to “Ronald McDonald House Charities” and give it to me or mail it directly to the Ronald McDonald House, 2144 Fairfax Avenue, Nashville, TN 37212. Donating through my website is simple, fast and secure and is the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
I greatly appreciate your consideration to support the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Nashville as I know that we are all involved in many great charities that also serve very important needs in our community. RMHC of Nashville relies entirely on the contributions of the community and generous individuals like you to keep the house operating.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
