Daffodil Tea for Mesothelioma Research
Thank you for visiting my Personal Fundraising Page.
I held the first Daffodil Tea in May 2010. May 3rd 2014 will be our 5th Daffodil Tea. Donating through this site is simple, fast, and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to the fundraiser if you cannot make it to the tea on May 3rd.
The Daffodil is a symbol of Hope. In Scotland where I grew up we had 'Daffodil Teas' in local church and school halls to raise money for cancer research. It was more than a fundraiser as people would share stories over a cup of tea and hopefully make a difference.
This tea is one way in which our family and church honor the life of our son Kenneth. Kenneth died from Mesothelioma on March 1st, 2009 at the age of 31. Mesothelioma is one of the most aggressive types of cancer with a survival rate of less than 1 year for the majority of patients. Since this cancer is a less common cancer the funding for research is limited. It is a fact that most funding comes from family and friends. This is a disease with no cure, but great research is being done right here in Boston with amazing results in lengthening lives. It was not feasible for Kenneth to have the surgery at the time he was diagnosed. Early detection is of the essence and can prolong lives.
Kenneth left behind an example of courage, love and laughter.
All donations go directly to Mesothelioma Research and will be given in Kenneth's memory.
Please help me to help lengthen the lives of others.
Many thanks for your support.
