BENEFITING: Crohn's & Colitis Foundation
ORGANIZER: Crohn's Colitis Foundation
EVENT: Pittsburgh Marathon 2016
EVENT DATE: May 01, 2016
I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease in 2006. As a junior in college facing the diagnosis of an incurable disease, I was looking for answers and it was through CCFA that I found the support and guidance from others who have Crohn's and Colitis. Last year, I ran my first half marathon, the Pittsburgh Half Marathon, and raised over $1000 for Crohn's research, support, and education. This year, I will be tackling my first MARATHON (that's 26.2 miles, people!) and again I am raising funds for this very important cause. I am optimistic that a cure for Crohn's Disease will be found within my lifetime, and your donations will help make that happen!
Crohn's Colitis Foundation of America wrote -
The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA) is a national non-profit organization dedicated to finding cures for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. Over 1.4 million Americans are directly impacted by these debilitating diseases. CCFA exists to fund cutting edge research, provide support services and to overall improve the quality of life of those living with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
The dollars you raise as a CCFA Team Challenge participant through the Pittsburgh Marathon go directly to the local chapter and help CCFA with its mission. We encourage you to learn more, fundraise and join us!
