On November 5, 2017, our team will be running 26.2 miles throughout the five boroughs of New York City for Cristo Rey New York High School.
Cristo Rey New York is transforming urban America, one student at a time. Located in East Harlem, Cristo Rey provides a college-prep education and corporate work-study program to students from low-income families. The average family income of a Cristo Rey student is $30,000, which adjusted for New York City living expenses leaves an available income of -$7,000. Yet, thanks to the commitment of the students, faculty, and staff, 98% of Cristo Rey's 770 graduates have enrolled in four-year college, and 82% have either graduated college or are on track to graduate. 98% of the Class of 2017 directly enrolled in four-year colleges in the fall, including Princeton University, Bates College, Colgate University, Georgetown University, University of Michigan, and University of Virginia.
Through the New York City Marathon, each of our runners have pledged to raise $2,500 for Cristo Rey New York High School, all of which will go directly to the cost of educating each student.
