BENEFITING: The Cancer Couch Foundation Inc
EVENT DATE: Jun 15, 2017
Who is the Cream Team: Four 12 year old boys (Adrian Ali, Aidan McCauley, Charlie Dusek & Tyler Kochol) who are just finishing 6th grade at Highland School in Cheshire.
Why: We all have incredible moms & females in our life. It would be impossible to imagine life without them cheering us on, encouraging us to be the best person we can be and begging us to pick up our trail of belongings scattered throughout the house. We liked the idea of helping our moms & other kid's mom stay safe by helping to raise money for this important research. And how could we turn down eating as much ice cream as possible??
The How: We get to compete with other teams to see who can eat the most ice cream in 3 minutes in the Scoops Challenge on June 15th. The Scoops Challenge is one of the main fundraising events for The Cancer Couch.
The Cancer Couch is a non- profit that funds metastatic breast cancer research. The facts are, 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer, and 30% of those diagnosed with early stage breast cancer will eventually be re-diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer (MBC). The average prognosis for MBC patients is 2-3 years, and yet less than 7% of breast cancer research funds go towards MBC.
Can you help us reach our goal? No amount is too small! Thank you, Adrian, Aidan, Charlie & Tyler
