The Story

Since our humble beginnings in 1934, CORY has always given back to the community. Its 1500 team members nationwide continue to participate in many philanthropic fundraising efforts and charitable organizations, including City of Hope. Our vision for 2015 is to impact each community in which we serve. As part of that vision CORY, its team members and associates are proud to partner with City of Hope once again.

Cory’s relationship with COH began in 2010 through the home furnishings industries association with City of Hope, when Joe Cory Senior was invited to take a tour of the COH campus in Los Angeles, CA.  It was during this visit that he realized the importance and commitment the doctors, medical staff, administration and researchers have to finding cures for cancer and other life threatening diseases.  It was at this time that he decided to make COH Cory’s charity of choice.  Many of our clients have been supporting COH through the National Home Furnishings Association and its many regional divisions.  We joined our clients in committing to COH’s research - clients like Rooms-to-Go, El Dorado, Ethan Allen, Darvins, Grands, Baers, and Ashley along with other industry associates and friends. In 2010, Joe Sr. was honored by COH with their prestigious Spirit of Life Award.

Beginning March 1st, 2015 CORY/City of Hope will launch a companywide virtual walk event, through which all team members and associates will have the opportunity to participate in a good time for a good cause! Money raised will benefit ALL RESEARCH conducted by City of Hope’s renowned research facility, the Beckman Research Institute.

The City of Hope is a leading research and treatment center for cancer and other life threatening diseases. It is also a founding member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, with research and treatment protocols that advance care both nationally and internationally.  www.cityofhope.org
