BENEFITING: Cornelia de Lange Syndrome Foundation, Inc.
ORGANIZER: Cornelia de Lange Syndrome Foundation, Inc.
EVENT DATE: Nov 06, 2016
Hello! My name is Pam Rieser. A couple of years ago, my husband and I became involved with an organization called "IRun4 Michael". The idea behind this organization is to match up runners that dedicate their miles to those that have the desire, but would never be able to do so.
In 2013 I was fortunate enough to get matched with the most sweetest girl, Katie. Katie has CdLS. Over these past few years we have grown to love Katie and her wonderful, warm family as if they are our own. They are an amazing family.
Cornelia de Lange Syndrome is a genetic disorder present from birth, but not always diagnosed at birth. It causes a range of physical, cognitive and medical challenges that affects both genders equally. CdLS does not discriminate - it's seen in all races and ethnic backgrounds. The occurence of CdLS is estimated to be 1 in 10,000 live births.
I have been given the opportunity of a lifetime to run in the TCS New York City Marathon! It is such a privilege and an honor to be representing Katie and the CdLS Foundation. I am so excited and scared at the same time to run 26.2 miles, but to know I will be doing it for Katie is the best feeling.
Please find it in your heart to donate today, however much you are able, so that CdLS research can be one step closer to finding a cure for this disorder. For online donations, click on the DONATE button. You may also mail your payment to: CdLS Foundation, 302 West Main street, #100, Avon CT 06001. Please include my name in the memo section of your check. All donations are tax deductible.
Thank-you for your support!
