Help me celebrate my birthday...I mean week...I mean 2 weeks! For the week leading up to my birthday -- September 28 -- and the week following, in lieu of gifts or a big get-together, what I really would like is for my dear friends to put that money towards supporting my organization, Community-Word Project.

Community-Word Project is a New York City not-for-profit organization that uses professional artists to inspire at-risk youth to read, interpret, and respond to their world through creative writing, poetry, and visual and performance arts. This year, we are helping 2,000 public school students become engaged in creative learning through the arts.
