ChapCare's mission is to provice excellent, comprehensive, and innovative healthcare that is accessible to all residents of the San Gabriel Valley.
Founded in 1995, ChapCare is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). Over the past 22 years, ChapCare has significantly increased access to healthcare for men, women, and children living in the San Gabriel Valley.
Our services are a vital part of the healthcare safety net in the San Gabriel Valley. Our patients are predominately low-income and uninsured individuals and families. Approximately 23% of ChapCare's patients lack health insurance. More than 77% of ChapCare's patients live at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines and over 55% live at or below 100% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
ChapCare operates 8 health centers: 4 in Pasadena, 1 in Monrovia, and 3 in El Monte and South El Monte. The organization provides comprehensive medical, dental, optometry, behavioral health, substance use, and pharmacy services. No one is refused service based on their ability to pay.
An estimated 63% of ChapCare's patients are Latino and 12% are African American - 75% of our patients are from historically underserved communities.
