The mission of the Community Forum Foundation (CFF) is to foster community-based action to make sustainable enhancements in quality of life for families in our community. To achieve this, CFF works in collaboration with other organizations to hold educational events (Forums) to inform the public about various issues and opportunities. For example, CFF partnered with the Lee County School District to provide the District with input from the community about their concerns with the Code of Conduct disciplinary procedures currently being used to deal with classroom disruption. Another recent Forum addressed Hurricane Preparedness and involved a presentation by the Director of Lee County Emergency Management to inform the public about ways they are working to protect people, society and the environment. The Forum also holds comprehensive events such as a Comprehensive Wellness Fair involving several organizations including the Affordable Homeownership Foundation, Inc., Wells Fargo Bank, RAMS Inc., Goodwill, the Grace Community Church and SW Florida College.
These Community Forums help to empower the people to find opportunities to improve the community though collaboration with various organizations in order to address such problems as high school dropout rates, high crime rates, under-performing schools, homelessness and affordable housing, health issues, environmental threats and joblessness.
