BENEFITING: PHOENIX BIKES
Hello! My name is Nathan and I am embarking on a coast-to-coast ride across the U.S. launching from Arlington, VA on April 11th. While I pedal across the nation, I'd like to make every mile count and that's why I chose Phoenix Bikes as an organization to support during my ride. Phoenix Bikes is a non-profit program based in Arlington, VA with a mission of educating youth, promoting bicycling, and building community. Their primary program is a youth bike education program where underserved youth ages 12-17 get a chance to learn the basics of bike repair, refurbish a bike to give to a community member in need, and then earn a bike for themselves. I chose Phoenix Bikes as a partner in my journey because I strongly believe that recycling bikes while teaching kids useful skills and giving them a valuable experience will help them throughout the rest of their lives.
How can you help? I'm looking to raise a dollar for every mile I ride, as well as to cover the cost of the recycled bike refurbished by Phoenix Bikes that I will be riding, for a total fundraising goal of $4000. Every dollar helps and will go directly to Phoenix Bikes to fund their awesome programs.
