As many of you know, Anna was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in January 2015 when she was 37 weeks pregnant with her second child, Rosie. Because of the diagnosis, the doctors asked her to induce labor and she began chemotherapy when her baby was three and a half weeks old. With the help of her friends and family, she endured six rounds of chemotherapy, surgery, and six more months of another infusion drug, Herceptin. Anna is blessed to be cancer free today and baby Rosie is a healthy toddler, but no young mother should ever have to endure what Anna and her family did. We are honoring Anna by raising money this year for Albie Aware because they do what no other organization in the area does for breast cancer patients; they give actual financial assistance to anyone in need for screening, testing and co-pays. Please consider that along with a life threatening diagnosis, breast cancer patients often face severe financial stress related to large medical co-pays and high deductible health plans. This is where Albie Aware steps in to assist. Albie Aware is Sacramento's only local breast cancer charity with it's mission and prides itself on keeping 100 percent of its donations local, so please be generous! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Until there is a cure, we must do all we can to help women like Anna SURVIVE and THRIVE!
