Climable is Audley Travel's Charity of the Year!

Climable works to inform the public about climate science and clean energy, and bring renewable energy projects to low- and moderate-income (LMI) communities who are most vulnerable to the impact of a changing climate. We keep things positive because where there is no hope, there is no action. We want people to feel motivated and inspired to do their part in fighting this fight!

Climable works collaboratively, always seeking local grassroots organizations to partner with on clean energy projects. Together, we develop plans to integrate renewable energy so that the most vulnerable people and critical facilities can maintain electricity in a power outage. That way, folks can still refrigerate medication, use life-saving equipment that is dependent on electricity, stay warm or cool, use elevators if there is a mobility challenge or charge their cell phones to contact loved ones or emergency services.

To date, we have neighborhood resilience projects in Massachusetts and Puerto Rico and have gotten great feedback on our approach. Audley Travel is helping Climable's fundraising efforts, in part, to bring a reliable source of energy to the Comité Pro-Desarrollo Villa Cañona, a nonprofit in Loíza, Puerto Rico. Loíza was hit hard by Hurricane Irma in September 2017 and a week later by Hurricane María. Together, we plan to add solar panels and battery storage so that this center can be a resource to residents in an emergency.
