THE STORY:
Clarke Schools for Hearing and Speech wrote -
"When your child is diagnosed with a hearing loss, there is a moment of uncertainty. But then Clarke comes into your life, and you know that it's all going to be okay."
Clarke Schools for Hearing and Speech provides children who are deaf or hard of hearing with the listening, learning, and spoken language skills they need to succeed.
On Sunday, November 6th, the 5 members of TEAM CLARKE will take to the streets of New York City. Each runner has committed to raising $2,500 for Clarke. 100% of the donations they receive will provide direct support for the life-changing programs and services Clarke offers for children who are deaf or hard of hearing children and their families.
This fundraiser has special meaning to me and my family as I will be running in honor of my niece Shaw who attended the Clarke School for pre-school. She is an amazing kid who has grown into an independent, inquisitive, curious and imaginative kid. Shaw was born with Auditory Neuropathy and was not able to hear. Shaw has two cochlear implants and through the help of the Clarke School Shaw was given the skills to listen and talk, an amazing foundation for being able to succeed in a traditional school. I will also run for Team Clarke in honor of my Aunt Susan also hears with the help of a cochlear implant.
Support me as I run 26.2 miles and help Clarke open a world of limitless possibilities for the children Clarke serves.
Please follow my training for the New York City Marathon as a part of Team CLARKE on my blog www.organicrunnermom.com
Thank you for your generosity in supporting the Clarke Schools!
