The CKG Foundation recognizes that there are resources and programs that are currently working to support this area in various broad capacities. In less than two years, we have expanded our race series throughout the nation to reach more teens and their families and have provided financial support to the Children's Mental Health Resource Center here in Richmond. This center serves as a GPS system with regards to children's mental health. http://www.mentalhealth4kids.org
The foundation is actively collaborating with professionals and key school staff to design a model for programs within the schools to facilitate group and individual dialogue concerning teenage depression and anxiety. This fall, we launched our Mindful Mondays program which was open to all teens in the Richmond area. The focus of this program is to teach awareness of the present moment in a non-judgemental way and give teens the tools needed to handle the stresses of everyday life. Building a strong sustainable organization is a priority as is leveraging it’s resources to support those who are already doing critical work in the area that Cameron was most passionate about: increasing awareness and support for teens dealing with anxiety and depression.
The foundation’s priority is raising awareness through positive action.
