EVENT DATE: Apr 29, 2017
Each day during our summer ministry, Citychurch puts close to 50 bikes and a handful of vans on the road to deliver nearly 2,500 lunches to the hungry children in North Amarillo’s poorest neighborhoods. Bikes are essential to our ministry to the neighborhoods. It allows us the opportunity to be approachable by the children and families we are serving. Children feel much more comfortable approaching us on our bikes in the neighborhoods than they would if we were in a vehicle, giving us greater opportunity to build relationships with them. Today, I am excited to let you know about an incredible event we are hosting on April 29th, 2017 here in Amarillo. We are calling it the Citychurch Ride For the Heart of the City powered by Roaster’s Coffee and Tea. The event will consist of the opportunity to ride (on a bicycle) one of three mapped routes in order to raise financial support and awareness for Citychurch’s summer ministry programs to the heart of our city. We have partnered with Hill’s Sport Shop to map out a nearly 53 mile course, a 30 mile course, and a shorter family fun ride from Citychurch.
