ChopArt is an Atlanta-based non-profit organization that empowers teens experiencing homelessness through art. Our Evolution Arts Residency (EAR) and Camp Envision programs offer art instruction and exploration in painting, music, dance, and theater. To date we have served over 40,000 teens ages 10-18.
Camp Envision is our annual overnight performing arts camp for unaccompied and sheltered homeless youth. The Evolution Arts Residency (EAR) offers arts instruction and exploration in painting, music, dance, and theater. The first artist residency program for youth experiencing homelessness in the Unitd States.
Homeless youth live in a daily crisis. Over 3,000 youth experience homeless on any given night in Atlanta.
Homeless youth are more likely to experience:
- Sex trafficking
- Mental health crisis
- Substance abuse
- Barriers to education and employment

Teens receiving ongoing mentorship are less likely to be sex trafficked, commit suicide, or abuse drugs. Arts educational experiences can produce significant positive impact on teens academic and social development.
